For my holiday homework, i came across this fabulous book called diary of a young girl, which was written by anne frank of course. The book was based on anne frank's life before she had to go into hiding and also describes vividly how she led her life in hiding. She named her diary Kitty as she had no friends whom she could trust, and hence she poured out her woes to the diary as it was a perfect friend and confidante, making this a very sentimental and emotional book to read. This book made me tear up as it depicted her life and suffering so well, it showed how she longed for freedom and the emotions were emphasised greatly. In my opinion, i think that the ending is good! Because her capture was unexpected, she didnt end off with a proper conclusion, yet the ending described how she thought of herself, how she wanted to change and how her smile with her bubbly personality masked her innermost, quiet and sensible self, preventing it from reaching the outside world . The ending has shown how much she had matured from a young 13year old girl to a 15 year old girl, how her thoughts and perspectives towards life had changed and how much she persevered even though she was in times of difficulty. It also talked about how her relationship with Peter van daan, blossomed from quarrels and being ignored or despised to loving and depending on each other wholeheartedly. Hence, if we look deeper into the depths of the book we can actually find alot of meaning in it. And thats why i like the book, got engrossed in it and recommend that you read it too (:
